The zucchini makes it healthy. The hot dogs are the bonus!

Hotdogs and Zucchini

Ingredients

1 package of hotdogs
1 large zucchini
your favorite bottled sauce (or make your own!)

kosher salt
pepper

Instructions
1. Slice up hotdogs and zucchini at an angle.

2. Heat up a frying pan. When hot, add a touch of oil. Sauté the hotdogs until they have some nice coloring on them. Remove from pan to make room for the zucchini.

3. In the same pan, heat up a little more oil. Add the zucchini, spreading it out evenly in pan. Sprinkle with pepper and a couple of pinches of salt.

4. When the zucchini is almost done to your liking, add the hotdogs back to the pan. Add a splash of your favorite sauce (about 1/4 cup or so to start with). You may have to lower the heat at this time, or temporarily remove your pan to a cold burner. [See notes below.] Stir well. Taste it. If you feel the taste of the sauce is too concentrated, add a touch of water to the pan and let it cook down a bit.

5. Remove hotdogs and zucchini from pan to serving dish.

Notes:
You can keep your pan on high or medium-high heat if you will be actively stir-frying from start to finish. If you are prepping other things and cannot be as attentive, lower your pan to medium, stirring occasionally. When stir frying over higher heats, it is helpful to use two wooden paddles (one in each hand) to keep the food moving.
Keep in mind that if your sauce contains a high sugar content, it can burn easily on high heat. You may want to remove your pan from the heat as you add the sauce. If the sauce seems to be scorching too quickly, add a little water to your pan to cool things down and dilute the sauce.
